Alcaidesa Links Golf Course is the older of the two golf courses that form part of this 36 hole golf resort. Designed by famed golf commentator Peter Alliss and Clive Clarke, The Links Course offers views of Gibraltar and Africa. The course meanders through mature Spanish countryside, framed perfectly by the Mediterranean sea, to provide a great golf experience on your next golf holiday in Andalucia.
The Heathland Golf Course is the newer addition to Alcaidesa. Designed by former Ryder Cup golfer and world-renowned golf architect Dave Thomas, the course provides great playability and is a superb test for all handicaps.

Alcaidesa Links is the only links course in southern Europe, being an 18 hole, Par 72 course, inaugurated in 1992 and designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark. The topography of the land at Alcaidesa is formed by gentle slopes descending towards the sea, finishing on a beautiful beach, creating a front of nearly 2 km. meaning that most of the holes are alongside the beach. The difficulty of the course lies mainly in the condition of the prevailing winds in the area. One of the special features of the course which most impresses visitors, is its spectacular view over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa. Its total length is 5.866m.
In 2011 Alcaidesa Links was included amongst the 20 best links courses on the European continent by the prestigious magazine Golf World. Many tournaments have been played at Alcaidesa Links, such as 2 PGA of Andalusia, in 1993 and 1994, 1 PGA of Spain in 1995, The Ryder Cup Junior Match U.S. against Europe in 1997.

Alcaidesa Heathland, consists of 18 holes par 72, designed by the renowned former Ryder Cup player and author of numerous internationally renowned layouts, Dave Thomas. This course offers a variety of natural scenery ranging from the plateau area (holes 1 to 5, 17 and 18) where the course is similar to a heathland, with wide fairways and outstanding views of the Mediterranean, to the valley area, where the holes meander along the valley and incorporate several water hazards. The total distance is: 6,373 m.

The Alcaidesa Club House is situated between our two golf courses and stands majestically on the highest point of La Alcaidesa, offering unique views over the whole Costa del Sol and Mediterranean Sea. Its innovative design has found the perfect blend between the more than 3,000m2 of space and traditional Andalusian architecture, making it a reference in the area.
The design of the Club House is a perfect combination of tradition and modern, recapturing elements of Andalusian architecture, with the idea of creating a pleasurable space where the visitor can enjoy the scenery.
This is where the wonderful Restaurant – Coffee Shop is located, offering an extensive selection of culinary choices, incorporating many aspects of the delicious local dishes, in an incomparable setting.

DRIVING RANGE ALCAIDESA GOLF
The Alcaidesa Golf Complex has an excellent 72-bay driving range, half of the bays being under cover, and an extensive practice area with putting green, bunkers and short-game area.
The Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort Golf School offers one-to-one lessons and group courses for all levels, and in various languages. You may also attend Golf Clinics, demos and courses for companies, and we even coach players on a one-to-one basis to obtain the Federation Licence which will allow them to play on the golf course.
The Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort Golf School offers lessons and training programmes for future golfers, every Saturdayduring the academic year (September – June). These courses and programmes are aimed specially for the younger players, so they mainly have a psycho-educational and technical content, as they contribute to the overall education of the pupil, covering, in addition to the technical golf issues, different aspects such as the physical, intellectual, affective and psychosocial aspects.
GOLF INTENSIVE COURSE
Alcaidesa´s Golf Academy organize during the Summer, from 01st until 21st of July 2019, a Golf Junior Intensive Course of three weeks with weekends off. In our Junior Camps, the young players could enjoy unforgettable experiences, practicing golf, with our technical and ludic programs.
In the Alcaidesa´s Campus the young players will share their experiences and interact with other young players of different nationalities in English language. They will acquire standard behaviour, ethic of the sport, and healthy habits.

In Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort you will find a magnificent driving range with 72 bays, half of which are under cover, enabling you to practice on grass. The driving range is 300 m. in length, and has magnificent sea views.

With an unrivalled location on the South West coast of Spain, the Alcaidesa Golf Club Links Course is pretty much unique in this area of Spain as every hole has a good sea view as the course meanders down to the coast and back up again to the magnificent hill top club house.
Although the Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort is a larger resort with lower green fees than some of the slightly more exclusive venues in the area, the quality of the golf courses here is still very high with excellent greens a feature of both on-site courses. Given the high levels of on-course traffic during high season periods it is testament to the green keeping team here at Alcaidesa that their hard work and high standards are rewarded with excellent playing conditions all year around.
Your first round on the Alcaidesa Links course is very much an adventure as some of the best lines from tee to green are not immediately apparent from the tee, so it is during your second round that you will probably enjoy the course more as your knowledge from the first round will no doubt assist with a lower score in your second and subsequent rounds.
Views from many of the holes on the Links Course are over the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean below across to the Rock and Straits of Gibraltar and the North African Atlas Mountains beyond, but try not to be too distracted by the wonderful location as pure concentration is needed to post a good score here! The prevailing winds off the sea are a constant feature of the course and your course management skills will be tested throughout the round for this reason.

The Alcaidesa Heathland Course offers exceptional golf in a stunning part of Spain and plays 6671 yards. The newer of the two courses is designed by Dave Thomas and offers a variety of natural landscapes, with wide fairways and outstanding views of the Mediterranean Sea. As well as the local mountain ranges (including the Sierra Nevada), the river valley comes into play where the holes meander along the valley and incorporate various water features/hazards.
Style: Coastal Links
This course is truly reminiscent of a classic Scottish seaside layout, complete with heather and gorse bushes. There have been some recent improvements made to make it suitable for all handicappers; the fairways have been improved and widened while the greens have been levelled off. You are also treated to some magnificent views over the Mediterranean to Gibraltar and on a clear day you can see the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.

The upmarket Alcaidesa golf resort is home to two golf courses, the most popular is links course, the other is a heathland course. Both are very different in layout and design which suit most players’ tastes.
The Alcaidesa Links Course
This classic Links-type course, has been Alcaidesa’s flagship since 1992, with magnificent views over the sea and the famous Rock of Gibraltar. A major facelift was carried out on the links course in 1999 which improved the overall playing experience.
This championship links course has been the venue for a number of major golf tournaments in the past including two Andalucian PGA tournaments, one Spanish PGA Tournament and the Ryder Cup Junior Match vs Europe in 1997.
The Heathlands Course
The new Heathland course was opened in 2007 and makes the most of the gently undulating landscape and typical olive groves and vegetation of the area. It was designed by Dave Thomas and offers wide fairways. Some of the holes meander along the river valley which has been used to incorporate various water features and hazards.
There is an impressive new clubhouse that houses an excellent pro shop, restaurant and terrace area and comfortable well equipped changing rooms. The restaurant and bar area offers a picturesque sun terrace, perfect to enjoy an after round drink or meal.
